I remember the first time i saw Seger at Livonia Ice Rink, in Livonia MI. it was before the 70′s though, i don’t remember the date but it was summer. It took me a week of doing extra chores so i could get up the 2$ to go! I will never forget it! I think i was around 14 yrs. old. I am now 57 yrs young! Still with ya Bob!
Saw Bob Seger at the Highway Drive In Theather, in Ft Lauderdale, FL. It was a great show that went on until the plug was actually pulled because he wanted to play all night and refused to quit.
Louisville April 8 1973 …Bob played at Beggar’s Banquet …downtown Louisville,KY
I was 16 years old and had a fake ID to get in.. I’ll never forget Bob walking past me with that long black hair brushing against my arm…I thought he was a fine looking man .. but it was his singing that made me a diehard.. lifetime fan.. When he toured a few years ago.. i felt like i was seeing a long lost old friend again.. I have followed Bob from Port Huron, Michigan (my home town..) to Miami. I will never get tired of seeing him and hearing him.. Rock on my friend..Bob Seger
The way I remenber it, Seger was practically the house band at Beggar’s Banquet in that period-I snuck in several times and watched them. I still maintain that ‘Her Strut’ was about a dancer named April that worked at Godfather’s (actually located on Washington, but the rear of the club exited to Main Street in Louisville) and the ‘pool hall’ was a palce called the Penqun Bar located on First Street between Jefferson and Liberty-in the same block as Beggar’s. You could look through the grimy front window and see the tables. There is a question abot who wrote rhe song, and I know the story about Ann Arbor but I know a woman in the business who swears she is his daughter. THREE coincidences? You be the judge. Looking forward to seeing him in November, and will wear a tee shirt emblazoned with “Beggar’s Banquet Alumni”!
I saw Seger a number of times in Columbus, Ohio at the ledgendary “Sugar Shack” in the late 60′s. I even drank some beer with Bob in between a set one night. Didn’t see him again until 1973 again in C’bus. April 20th to be exact at Vet’s Memorial. The warm up band was Brownsville Station. Seger’s back up singers came out and wailed for several mins. then Bob strolled on stage and the place erupted. After the first song he looked out at the sparce crowd, ( only about 800 ) and saw many empty seats in that 3600 seat hall. He then said ” Come on down front people, its a party”. And it was!!!
well I’m lucky enough to live within an 1 hour drive from Cleveland* (The Home of rock and roll ). Being 53 yrs young and growing up in the (70′s) I was an avid concert fanatic. that being the said I only went to( ROCK VENIEW’S ) And Bob was probaly my all time favorite. I’ve been to 14 of his show’s to date and each one just seams to get better. I’m in the prosses of getting tickets for his April 7th show at the Q arena in Cleveland as we speak. So ROCK ON BOB SEAGER AND THE SILVER BULLET BAND!!!!!!!!!!!
Living in Ft Lauderdale area I saw Bob Seger at the Highway Drive In Theather. He was the opening act for Ted Nugent, I believe we all knew he would soon be a big star himself cause he seriously ” stole the show”. !!! The best!! To tell you the truth about HOW GOOD he is…he ranks in the top FIVE of all time concerts ! I have been to almost 200 concerts in my lifetime so that’s one for the books!!! He is so awesome of a performer… I have already booked my tickets, plane and of course hotel for New York City at the GREATEST place to see a concert….Madison Square Gardens… AWESOME!!! See ya there!!!!!!
