  1. Was at a show when Bob Seger System played Finch Fieldhouse not sure whether it was 72 or not, but great show. The show was Bob Seger, SRC and Bang, all for $2.50! My whole band went to see what a real band looked like! We were like right up front and had one of the greatest times of our lives! Bob was clean shaven, a sight you rarely saw after 72′.

  2. the best bob show was the opening of the Oakland Mall,I think jerry Lubin of WABX WAS THE mc,it was the summer of 68,I-75 was backed up both ways. The Third Power opened ,next up was Savage Grace,The Bob Seger System closed the show,a good time had by all.A well behaved huge crowd in the parking lot that was never saw again. What a show!

  3. It’s May or June 1970, I’m just finishing grade 9 at Vincent Massey Collegiate in Windsor ON, and the Bob Seger System is the headliner for the last dance of the school year. Ramblin Gamblin Man, Heavy Music, and River Deep/ Mountain High had us rockin. The other band on stage that night was SKY. On a sad note Doug Fieger, one of the founders of SKY and the Knack passed away two days ago on Valentines Day 2-14-2010. Other posts on this site spoke of WABX and Robin Seymour- now those are two names I haven’t heard in 40 years as my parents moved us to Ottawa later in the summer of ’70. I introduced my first girl friend to the music of Bob Seger with Smokin OPs in 1972 or ’73. Bob Seger’s music has Rolled me Away thru 4 or 5 decades. Forty years? It can’t be!

    • Dave,

The Massey 50th reunion is Oct 8 and 9 2010

  4. i’m pretty sure the Louisville concert was at a place called Beggar’s Banquet in downtown Louisville. I was underage and had a fake ID… :) Bob came in and walked past our table and his long black hair brushed my arm.. and when he sang… that was it for me..i have been a diehard fan ever since… I have followed Bob Seger from Michigan to Miami….. He is definately a part of my life…and always will be… Seeing him on this last tour was like seeing an old friend who you haven’t seen in years and were soo happy to see… i just wanted to give him a big hug and tell him i missed him.. I’m hoping for another tour.. i will no doubt be there..

  5. I’m trying to remember the name of a little bar, it was in “Shields, Michigan” just west of Saginaw. It was built on a bridge, over a creek, off the Tittabawassee river. Back in the day, late 60’s early 70’s, a good Friday night Bob Seger would be playing. A lot of good bands played there, none could pack the place like Mr. Seger.

The place would bounce up and down, I’d have to say, Bob got the best bounce to the beat, ha-ha.

I think the name of the bar was “Hidden Hollow” not sure, it was a golf course at one time. Then a bar, where Seger and a lot of bands played in their early days. Never a bad time, the smell of pot and drinks all around, the good old days. Thanks for rock’en Shields Bob, we never messed a night you played, we are fans from the start.

Just an old stoner from Shields.

    DMJ.

  6. I have never seen him in concert..so sad. It is on my list of things to do before I die. I know time is getting short..so I can only pray he goes on tour atleast 1 more time. I will not miss him, no matter where I have to go!! BOB SEGER YOU HAVE THE SEXIEST VOICE OF ALL TIME!!!!!

  7. My ex wife was from Baton Rouge, and we were visiting her folks and were fortunate he was there! Great show, nothing like a Detroit audience though!

  8. I was not at this concert but i have seen bob seger 5 times from ’76 to ’96 all i can say he ages well in every aspect of life. i have a 8×10 photo of him at rupp arena in lexington, ky. i was about 3 rows back and this was in his prime.ohhh boy do i have a great picture. black jeans, blue shirt, black vest–very nice!!

  9. Does any one remember a club called Madhatter on Broadway in Louisville, KY? I’m sure I saw Bob Seger there.

  10. going to my first show this may in cleavland!!!!!!! can’t wait

  11. Thanks to Lou for filling in the blanks. The last time I saw Bob was at the Oakland Mall concert. Didn’t realize it was that long ago. I thought it was early 70′s! Not 1968! Going to see him in Dallas next month with my wife and daughter. Looking forward to it!

  12. Those years are still a big blur, lots of good drugs women and music, it seemed that I saw a concert every other day. I saw Bob a few times in that time period and I’m hoping that after 40 years I will see Bob again. During that period there was music and then there was MUSIC and Bob sure as hell fit in the MUSIC area and will do so till the day I die . Miss a lot of years with Bob due to his retiring??? but I won’t miss any more that I can promise. Seager was the real deal and I still think he kicks ass over these kiks who think they’re putting out music the may be half ass but shall never match BOB SEAGER.
